April 2008 — "Sara Henke was referred to us by a friend, and we were not disappointed. We began our house search over a year ago while still living in Calgary. We met with Sara on a visit to Victoria and she gave us a good idea of the market and signed us up to receive new mls listings through our email. Back in Calgary, it took us much longer to sell our condo than we expected. Sara was good at giving us space, never hounding us for updates, but was always reponsive when we contacted her for any reason. When we finally arrived in Victoria, we did a lot of our own leg work to try to understand the market here, visiting a ton of open houses. But we still felt like we were missing something, feeling very disappointed at what we were finding. We contacted Sara again and let her know we were ready to buy (with our pre-approval in place) but we had a lot of questions about neighbourhoods, what was a good price, what wasn't a good price etc. Sara was excellent as answering all our questions, and was very honest. We fully trusted her and the advice that she gave. One house that I loved, Sara said she wouldn't let us buy--well she would, but she had pointed out a structural flaw that I would have missed, perhaps only discovered after a home inspection. Anyway, to shorten a long story, the second house Sara showed us was THE house! She spotted it before it went up on the MLS and she called us in to see it fast! She knew our tastes and knew we'd love it -- and we did. It was much more home than we thought we could afford, and Sara reassured us of its value. We made an offer the next day, only find out that shortly after, there was a back up offer on the table. If hadn't gotten in there quick because of Sara, we would not have found the home of our dreams! Sara is thorough and informed, and is very down-to-earth. There's no hint of used car's salesman here!"
