“The other Francophone Comics: the manga-inspired comics and the Franco-African Comics”

All the events take place at the Alliance française of Edmonton and admission is free

- From May 8th to 28th : exhibit on Francophone comic
- Friday, May 13th at 6pm: discussion animated by Chris Reyns (Professor at the University of Alberta, Francophone Comics Specialist and co-organizor of the festival). Degustation of Japanese zakouskis
- Saturday, May 14th at 5pm: Screening of the animated film “Aya de Yopougon”, adapted from Marguerite Abouet’s graphic novel. Degustation of African specialities: gboflotos (sweet fritters) and gnamankoudj (ginger drink)
- Tuesday, May 17th at 6pm: Meeting with Marguerite Abouet, writer of “Aya de Yopougon”. Round table discussion with Chris Reyns and the Edmonton novelist Guy-Armel Bayegnak.
- Saturday, May 28th at 2:30pm: screening of comedy “L’élève Ducobu”, adapted from Zidrou and Godi’s comics
- Saturday, May 28th at 8pm: screening of the action movie “Largo Winch II”, adapted from the Jean Van Hamme’s comics
