Jazz in the Books - The Le Boeuf Brothers
The first instalment of the NWC Jazz Special Event Series will present an exciting performance by the New York based Le Boeuf Brothers on the release tour for their newest album, Imaginist. Billed as talented musicians and award-winning composers by All About Jazz, Pianist Pascal Le Boeuf and saxophonist Remy Le Boeuf "pursue a hyper-fluent streamlined modern ideal" (New York Times) with an "impressive level of sophistication." (San Francisco Chronicle). Imaginist is a tour de force inspired by the early 20th century Russian poetry movement of the same name, complete with a piece based on the Franz Kafka short story A Dream. This performance will feature Martin Nevin on bass and Alain Mednard on drum set in addition to the brothers, as well as local art by David Richeson, and local beer courtesy of our friends at Village Brewery.
