Law Day is a national event every April that celebrates the signing of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It is an occasion for the public to learn about the law, the legal profession and the legal institutions that form the cornerstones of Canadian democracy. In Calgary, the Calgary Courts Centre is open to visitors, where they can tour the courthouse, view mock trial demonstrations, and see booths and exhibits from over 50 community partners, including the Alberta sheriffs with a display of items confiscated at the courthouse.
